Video Uplink Stations for RTP, Lisbon, Portugal/ Marconi/ GSI in five African Countries (Completed – May 1998)

System installation, testing & commissioning of 4.5 meter C Band Redundant Satellite Terminals for digital video uplink in five Portuguese speaking African countries:
Sao Tome,Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde & Guinea Bissau.
Project included 4.5 meter Antennae and step track tracking system, EF Data CSAT terminals and Modems, Thomson Digital Video Encoders and associated equipment.
Roof top installation in Luanda, Angola for RTP Africa of 4.5meter C Band Vertex Antenna 7134 Vertex motor controller and ACU system, EFData CSAT - HPAs and Transceivers ESI Dehydrator MPEG II Video Encoder Monitor & Control System
Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde installations were completed successfully despite difficult site conditions, political unstability and civil war, particularly in Guinea Bissau. Pictures not available.

Operation & Maintenance of the Digial Video network and training provided at five sites for three months duration each to make the customer familiar with the system.
